Junior Sailing Program

Kids and teens can learn skills that they will use for the rest of their lives... both on and off the water.

If your child is age 9 to 16, can swim 50 yards, and is interested, he or she can learn to sail.

Here's an opportunity for your child to learn water safety, basic boating and sailing skills, sportsmanship, team work, self-reliance and self-esteem.

• Learn basic sailing skills from instructors certified by U.S. Sailing
• Kids will learn to sail in single and double handed boats
• Conveniently located in sunny, South Beach Harbor
• $225 per week — Scholarships available for those in need
• Optimist Trainer, Laser 4.7 and FJ Sailboats provided
• Maximum of 14 students
• SBYC membership not required

Three summer sailing day camps are currently scheduled in 2010:

• June 21 - 25 - Intermediate Class (1 week program)
• July 12 - 23 - Beginning Class (2 week beginner program)
• August 2 - 6 - Beginning and intermediate Class (1 week program)

 

Each session is from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, Monday thru Friday.
